I know nothing official about WH

I had a hot lead to him more than 15 years ago when I was chatting to a Winkfied hairdresser on the telephone and he offered to put me in touch with WH directly.
It transpired that WH did not want to communicate with me.
It is only over the last few years that I had come to understand the likelihood why.

Read my post again
‘ I want to check through my list of refs.’

In spite of the fact thatI am sill in bed, I am live and ‘on my my feet’ as it were.
Though I seem to have flashes of revelation early in the morning, they dissolve as the day goes on.

Joshua Richard Joseph Hopkins married Emma Lewis 30 September 1861.
His father Benjamin - licensed Victualler
Her father Frederick - Builder
Witnesses Frederick Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis.

They did not have any children of their own, each census they had nephews living with them.

Thanks for that.
William H. and Doreen Hopkins at 20 Oxford Rd. Abingdon in 1952 are a possibility.
As is Wiliam and Martha at Fairfield Cottage, Wokingham in 1950.

Both sets of my grandparents have firm connections with the Wokingham area, as does the late uncle who I know was an associate of Bill Hopkins.

I have an extensive thread on tephera’s part of the forum. I am a bit to tired to sort the relavent parts of the  thread out. I will try and fish a link out for those with the inclination to fish it.
