Birth certificate
« on: Thursday 28 March 24 10:52 GMT (UK) »
I know that we are not supposed to post about living people, just I need a bit of help , we need to order my husband's full birth certificate, I've tried looking for the gro index reference number to order it , but can't find it, I don't remember having this much trouble finding them before , but it has been a while since I've ordered of the general records office site, and seems so different, any help will be very much appreciated x

Can you find him on FreeBMD?
Have you checked for spelling variations?
If he has more than 1 forename, have you checked for the names being swapped?

There is a gap between 1934 and 1984 on the GRO website. Look it up on FreeBMD and use the reference from that to order from the GRO.

If it's a paper certificate you want it can be quicker to order from the local registration office, most have on-line ordering or by phone. You won't need a reference at all ( other than his details).
