Henry DORWOOD, born 1845, Dalkeith (?)

The 1891 Scotland Census (Citation: Parish: Edinburgh St. Cuthberts; ED:62; Page:19; Line:10; Roll: CSSCT1891_342)………this entry for the above creates two difficulties:

(1):   There are four children mentioned Henry (born 1880), Elizabeth (1881), Jesse (1885)
         and Donald (1887).   I can find no evidence of their individual births nor their
         mother's name and her marriage to Henry DORWOOD (assuming there was one!!).   
         He was discharged from the Army in April 1886 after 22 years service, of which I
         have no information.

(2):   There are no further references to Henry DORWOOD after the 1891 Census other
         than possibly the 1901 Scotland Census (Glasgow) in the name of Henry DARWOOD.

Hopefully somebody may be able to kindly help me solve the problems

What are the children's birthplaces in the 1891 census?

On FindMyPast there's a Regimental/Armed Forces birth record for a Henry J Dorwood.
Born 1880. Location: Norwich. Regiment: 17th Foot.

Birthplaces are England for the oldest 3 children and City, Edinburgh for the youngest.

Possible 1901 for Jessie Dorwood age 14 servant, again says born England.

What about the housekeeper - Janet Mowatt - sometimes the way the housekeeper was the mother.

I can't see Dorwood births in England for the children.

Births index lists Donald Walter Darwood, mother's surname Urquhart, born in Edinburgh St George in 1887. The birth certificate will tell you the full names of both parents and when and where they were married.

Margaret Urquhart or Darwood, 46, died in Edinburgh St Andrew in 1890, mother's maiden surname Mathieson. Her death certificate should tell you the full names of both her parents.

Henry Darwood, 78, died in Barrhead and Levern in 1924, mother's surname Morrison.

Henry Darwood married Margaret Downie 1880 First quarter Registration District of Farnham, Surrey Vol. 2a, Page 137 (RD Farnham, although it is in Surrey, covers the District of Aldershot which is actually in Hampshire.

married 17 June 1870, 6 Brighton Place, Govan, Lanarkshire (646(1)/1870/92 (Entry no. 92 in the Register of Marriages for 1870 for the Registration District of Govan Church, Lanarkshire)

Margaret Urquhart, 25, residence at time of marriage 9 Brighton Place, Govan, father James Urquhart, joiner, deceased, and Margaret Urquhart, maiden surname Mathieson. Duncan Brown and Barbara Alexander signed the register as witnesses.

James Downie died 1873, aged 27 (!!), 501/1873/133 RD Old or West Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire
