Sailing Ship The NORWOOD
« on: Wednesday 03 April 24 18:06 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find what type of ship the Norwood was (i.e. a schooner; barque etc) -- it was built in Sunderland in 1853 and appears to have first sailed with passengers in March 1854. Can anyone assist please?

You can search Lloyds Register year on year -
https://www.maritimearchives.co.uk/lloyds-register.html

An explanation of the various codes etc. eg "YM" can be found at the front of the Register

Note - by 1862 there are 2 x Norwood but haven't checked when the 2nd appeared.

A sighting of a Norwood in Oz in 1854 - ties in with the '53 Lloyds register?

At last, a report that matches the Lloyds' Register tonnage!
