Hugh Jamieson, born 1901, age 24, Occupation Joiner
Left Glasgow 21st May 1925, for Montreal, Quebec
Ship's Name: Marloch, A Canadian Pacific (CP) ship
Capt G Hamilton

Hi Welly,
The above is the correct entry for your Hugh.  His passage was paid by his mother, to whom he is destined:  Annie McDonald, 347 Sackville St., Toronto
His nearest relative from where he is coming from is listed as "Father Jas. Jamieson , 2 Factory St, Lochwinnoch.
These entries are typed, but handwritten over Annie entries, is Mrs, and sister.  I'm not sure if he is meaning that he is going to both his mother's and sisters residence, or what...
Clip attached so you can see what I mean.

1925 Toronto Directory - the "street" section of the directory says who is the "head" at a certain address.   Betty McDonald is listed for 347 Sackville.   Perhaps Annie went to live with a McDonald relative??

In 1926, Mrs A McKinley is listed at 347 Sackville

Here is the image - Free from Library and Archives Canada

Annie is at 347 Sackville with Betty MacDonald, and a Charles Appleby (Lodger).   Betty McDonald is 26 years old and listed as step sister to Annie McKinley.    Betty is born in Ontario.   Interesting.  Do you know what happened to Annie's parents?   Who else came to Canada?

They are not noted at the 347 Sackville address in the 1935 Voters' Lists -- only Mrs. George Clark and Mrs. Conger Potter, both widows.

Richard McKinley's WWI attestation record gives his birthplace as Lockwinnich, Scotland.
