So sorry for my late reply as not checked on here in a while and didn't get any notifications.

Hugh jamieson was born 31st March 1901 so looks like the right one. Elizabeth jamieson Annie's daughter Elizabeth i belive may of gone by Betty, she left my grandad and his siblings money when she passed , he never knew about her.

The Elisabeth name has been passed down a few generations with normally family maiden names included. No Elizabeth Glen but Glen was the maden name of james jamiesons mother and was included in some of his
siblings names.

One of Annie's sisters does turn up in Canada but I'm still going through them as one ends up in New York as well I think as well.

Thank you all so much , I keep reading this over and over trying to make sense of it all. I have been searching for months an not turned up half of what you all did. Thank you again.

I'm starting to think that Elizabeth and Betty ate one an the same and Ann mckinley is Annie jamieson as still married to James uses mother's maiden name to marry.

One of james jamiesons sisters marries a james mckinlay in lockwinnoch in 1896 so will have to do a deep dive to see if that's a possible relation to Richard Mckinlay.

James is Marked as married on the 1921 census so not divorced or widowed hence Annie having to use a different name. Sooo much to go through

Hi Welly07,  I've read your posts under family mystery.  Lots of it appears to be true. Elizabeth Brake nee Jamieson was called Betty. My great aunt. Her mother Annie was the problem. I think she may have married someone called McKinley in Canada while still married to her husband James Jamieson. He died in Kilbirnie in 1947. She would want to keep quiet about her Scottish marriage. I will re read your family mystery post again. Lots of information I don't have especially re Hugh Jamieson.

Hiya gerry
Definitely seems she married again and lied about her age.
Will look for a John jamieson born to Hugh going from your reply on your search.
Haven't found a marriage to Elsie Kirkham yet or any kids born to him and Elsie or him and Elizabeth Semple as yet.

Hi  Sandra   thanks for all that information.  After spending a while reading it I think that the Hugh Jamieson is my great uncle and John his son. Never thought they both had such a varied life.
