Some more maths to do by the looks of it.  Just trying to "round up" this kids born in Tasmania.  This is AMELIA married to Mr. G Free.  A very good obituary.

Excuse the spelling I meant to say THESE kids.  Getting tired LOL.  I love the way they mention her being brought OVER TO AUSTRALIA.  Wasn't Tasmania always a part of Aus.  How funny

Apparently he appears in the below papers?
The Chelmsford Chronical 1822
The Times 1822 (March 13 or 15)

You can see the New Times article for free on findmypast. It says he "described himself as a native of one of the British colonies".

(You will probably need an account - free to sign up. A few other articles also free to view.)

Which Grenada was of course. As shown on his Convict Description as you mentioned.
Native means place of birth

Hi all.  I'm just looking now at FindMyPast.  As you stated maddys there are quite a few mentions of William.

I have gone through and looked firstly at all of the "Free to View" then to see the rest it requires a subscription.  I will see if it is viable as you need to have a more expensive sub to look at the newspapers.

Will have to think about it I guess!
