No worries, Viktoria. I am sure if the origin of the theory came out of Canada, we would know about it, as we are very quick to point out our mistakes and shortcomings!
I did my teacher training in 1978-79 (after completing a BA) and there was little or no mention of autism or in fact, little at all about “spec. ed”, which was considered a speciality to be pursued post-grad.
