BillyF, if you have a subs to Ancestry, there are a couple of family trees for this line such as this one www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/45652956/person/102291693995/facts which could help in fleshing out the family further.

I've found Beatrice in 1939 - appears to be working/living in as a domestic in a Gloucester hospital

That is great, Mabel. I am failing to find Doris that year! Ellen we know is in London (no children it seems).

Than you all for your time!

I was told that Doris was born in Wales, but it doesn`t seem likely now.

I looked at the Cardiff one, with the mother Martin. Tnere were 2 other daughters in this family, one died at 1year old, the other Florence didn`t marry a Crawford, or even remarry. I also checked lots of others and realised I needed help!

I heven`t an Ancestry subscription, will go ahead with that as I will struggle to find time to go to the library, and the normal Anc is better anyway.
