Help missing a birth/baptism record 1870 East Dereham
« on: Tuesday 09 April 24 02:40 BST (UK) »
Ruth Phoebe Porter had an illegitimate daughter Edith born 1870  ( I think, she would  be illegitimate as Ruth is described as a spinster on marriage cert of 1872).  Edith always states born East Dereham on any census  (1871-1901)  However I can find no trace of a birth or baptismal record.  Any info much appreciated.    Thank you.

Ruth Porter 20 was housekeeper to George Kitchin 43 East Dereham 1871.

No children listed. They married Newcastle 1872.

Where are you finding Edith?

Sorry forgot to mention Edith age 1 living with grandparents Martin and Phoebe Porter.   The whole family,  grandparents, Edith, Ruth and George all move to Newcastle. 1881 census shows Edith still with grandparents ( although Martin now known as Henry!!) and Edith has taken her mothers married surname.
