 ;D ;D.

It is not surprising that many people pronounce it wrongly.

Just as long as you pronounce Frome correctly!
Rhymes with broom; does NOT rhyme with Rome! ;D

Absolutely!

I used to live close by and a friend moved from London to Frome and was not enamoured. I hasten to say not my view but she insisted on calling it ‘Gloom’.

Great to hear you were able to get the information as a result of Rosie’s  brilliant lead.

Of course, I say Frrooome! You should try some of the placenames round here Heysham, pronounced Heesham, Aughton pronounced Afton and Quernmore pronounced Quermer and many others....

Isn't that a Carnival Club in Bridgwater?

You’re getting warm! The Huckyduck Carnival Club from Coleford which is well known in the West Country at winter carnival time is named after the Huckyduck canal aqueduct in the same village..
