The numbers (in words) in the right hand column refer to corrections that have been made in the original entry, and there should be corresponding alterations with the numbers 11 to 13 (in figures) against them in the columns to the left.

These corrections have nothing to do with an adoption, nor do the numbers themselves refer to ages. Often the corrections are simple things like spelling mistakes, but sometimes you might pick up a useful clue to help in your research, such as a stepfather's name being replaced with that of the birth father. But as with every registration, you have to keep in mind the possibility that they might not always have been telling the truth....
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Yes, Angelina Elizabeth Brooker and Benjamin Charles Brooker were both resident at Wandsworth Road in 1939.  The register was in force for the period 15th October 1939 to 14th October 1940. (I should have checked those dates earlier. )

Cyril F R Goddard and May Winifred Goddard are there in 1936 as well as Ann & Harry Taylor so presumably in multiple occupation.  Only the Goddard family are there on the 1939 register.

Andelina and Benjamin were both together at the Wandsworth Road address in 1936 so should really be there on the 1939 register

Hi Rosie.
Thank you . I'm going to look into them right now.
Any idea why the written numbers should be added on the very far right of the certificate ?  I've never come across this before .
Thanks again .
