Whilst I never trust third part trees on anc* there are 29 trees on this site showing John Henry and Lilian street. Do any offer anything not yet found?

When John Henry Jacques married he was a Bombadier and his abode was Froome (Frome) Somerset. They married at the church of St Alban in Hindhead, Surrey.

Pretty sure he is not the York one as he married Catherine Freer in Dunnington in 1921.

Yes I have him in the 1891 as 1 years (estimate).
His son John Edwin Jacques died on the HMS Dunedin 24-11-1941 where they lived in Frimley Green, Surrey.
On his death cert 4-6-1978 it states date & place of birth 24th October 1890, Wakefield Yorks.
But as stated before he states in 1921 census Barnsley!
No I haven't discounted John Jaques Barnsley 1895 as I never found that one (thanks)
I have gone with his parents as Jonathan and Sarah Jane but no-one in the family (that's left) knows.

There is a John JAQUES registered in Barnsley in 1895 ( indexed as JAGUES on GRO - mother's name WOOLHOUSE), have you discounted that one ?

I have ordered the certificate

I am at a 'brick wall'. On my wife's side of the family I cannot find any record of birth of her grandfather John Henry Jacques.
We are not sure where he was born the only thing we have to go on is on the 1921 census he has entered Birth Place Barnsley Yorkshire. We have his Army number 73739.
On his marriage cert 12 April 1917, he states he is 25yrs old, and his wife Lilian Street is listed as 30yrs old but 3 years later on the 1921 census she is 36 and he is 29yrs 8mths?
His father is listed as John Jacques (Deceased) on the wedding cert.
I have been going around in circles looking and don't know where else to look.
Can you help please.

What occupation is given. Does his father have occupation. Any witnesses names that could give clues.

There's a Royal Artillery attestation record which suggests he was called up from the reserve for a brief period in the spring of 1921 - army number 1009722. It's possible that his service records were retained by the MoD and may still exist.

Thanks this gives some additional info
