I think this would be the right Joseph FREEMAN. A further indication of trouble in the marriage? 1886

A news item about the death of Jane FREEMAN 1888. Only further information -wife of a labourer

It might be a total coincidence, but I’m wondering whether the following couple could have been the parents of Annie and Joseph.

John Freeman b abt 1823/4 Liverpool, still alive in March 1892 (might have died in Broken Hill???)
&
Jane Freeman b abt 1823/4 Liverpool, d 17 Jul 1888 Adelaide Hospital (Last residence: Thebarton)
Police report to the coroner: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJB-R3SB-X?i=9
(same info: https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/204455762?searchTerm=%22freeman%22 )
-
They  arrived on the Garonne (approx) late 1885, religion=CoE

FYI:
Their names were mentioned in the tree that I'd previously referred to: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L2YK-W1Z

The marriage of Jane GORE to John FREEMAN shows him a Blackmith of full age. Married 1846.

By census 1851, the couple have 2 children, William and Joseph. John is a Blacksmith b. c. 1823. Liverpool
By census 1861 the children are William, a boilermaker, Joseph and Mary. John as above.
By census 1871 the chilldren home on the night with the couple  are Mary, John,  Ann  b. 1864 and Jane (b. 1866 Liverpool)
In 1881, there are no children with the couple.
In 1891, they are not found.

And just adding to Treespirit's intersting findings, re John in Hospital because I am not sure if this Hospital Admission for Jno (John) FREEMAN has been noted in full.

1892 Jno  Freeman. Widowed. Age 68. . Birth Year abt 1824. Birth Place Liverpool. Occupation   Laborer.Admission Date 24 Mar. 1892 Discharge Date 20 Apr. 1892
Ship   Garonne. Lenghth of time in colony 7 years. Condition Ulcerated Leg.

Thanks for that, but I don't think they are same.
Found Ann's parents, John & Jane nee Gore.
Ann's brother, Joseph, died in Kalgoorlie.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you are saying here.

Yes we know who the parents were and yes we know where Joseph died as these facts have been discussed on previous pages of this thread and your other of 2016.

Thanks Sue, it is good to see that someone understands why that Adelaide couple caught my eye.

FYI
Following are the actual hospital admission entries with a few extra fields:
Jane (1888): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS6D-8SVN-G?i=107 (#1134)
John (1892): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS6D-8SVM-F?i=272 (#577)

Yes.
The 1892 digitisation was the one I took my record about Jno above from, but I had not seen the other 1888 one re the possible Jane FREEMAN (snr nee GORE).
" Chronic?" alcoholism and convulsions. Dead.

Differing number of years in Adelaide between his and her 2 records ???. Ill and confused?

No death notices from family.

Thanks Sue & Tree Spirit,

Must admit blind-sided by that info about John & Jane Freeman.
As you can see I am not very good at this and your info has been a great help.
Joseph Henry was my dad, but passed when I was 13 yrs so no one to get info from except here.
Basically was following the Garrards line but intrigued by my granmothers (Ann Freeman) line, when I found her grave in same cemetery as my mother. Her surname ( Garrard) is not on her tombstone because of family differences (2 marriages!)
I really appreciate all you help in my quest.

Gloria (nee Garrard)

As you know, your father enlisted in the armed forces WW1.
So also did your uncle William Cephus GARRARD.

As NOK he , like his brother, has listed Mrs Annie BROWN his mother with an address of a hotel at Yorke Penninsula.

I'm not sure when or where this marriage to BROWN took place (if?) Certainly GARRARD at her death.

Digitised here. The Army file.

Ann Freeman married William George Brown on 2 Jan. 1911 in Adelaide.

Have seen and copied my father's service record; he died in 1959 in Adelaide and is buried in the AIF cemetery, West Tce, Adelaide.
