It looks as though Margaret has some convictions in the 1850s for stealing.
She was acquitted of stealing in 1868.
There is also mention of ‘18 times summarily convicted of drunkenness’.

Births with mmn Gough
1852 Catherine Darcy (death 1853?)
1856 Thomas
1860 Charles

I can’t see James but there is a birth for James Boxwell in 1862 with mmn Roach.

Still seems to be a puzzle re the name
Charles is with Alice, 7 yrs in 1861. I can’t see a birth for her either.
No Margaret with them in 1861.

Margaret died in 1869 - widow of Charles Darcey

I wonder if James was adopted??   I couldn't resist checking the 1862 birth of James Boxwell - His parents were Michael Boxwell - Cordwainer and Mary Boxwell mn Roach - address Lever St Bolton   .  I can't see the family at the moment   :-\

The Family Story was that they wanted to drop their Irish Name and Invented Boxwell
But Charles and James seem to be D'Arcy in 1862 1871 1881 and James married as D'Arcy in 1885
But had Charles Gibert as Boxwell in 1886 and Jesse in 1888 as Boxwell and James in 1890 as Boxwell and showed Boxwell on 1891 1901 1911 Census
But Registered Minnie 1893 as Darcey then Jesse 1898 as Darey
then Ada 1900 as Darey then Margaret Ann 1903 as Darcy
While Known As Boxwell locally and on Census Records
Minnie had a Son James 1915 out of wedlock and declared her Maiden Name as her Known As Name not her Birth Name
They certainly made it hard for any Ancestors Researching years later.

An adoption seems plausible.
I think Margaret died in the workhouse.
Her last court appearance looks to be 1868.
She is not with Charles in 1861 - for whatever reason.
I can’t see her yet in that census.
It’s a puzzle.

I wondered whether she was in prison at the time of the census but can't see her and have also searched just using her intials
