Bridget (a widow) was living in Pitt Street, but died at the Workhouse, South Dublin Union on 21 September 1896.

it confirms he was married. I do believe I’ve seen that record before many moons ago but didn’t record it or realise how important it was, so the burial record was incorrect. Ive now seen quite a few workhouse records for Walter, Im now going to have a look through the Ireland, Poor Law and Board of Guardian Records, 1839-1920 record for any other Whelan’s at Luke st.
