The death in 1886 shows Walter’s residence as Luke Street.

Ireland, Poor Law and Board of Guardian Records, 1839-1920
Various admissions/discharges - an example - occupation generally a labourer
January 1879 (date smudged) Walter Whelan 61 yrs Coal Porter married 22 Luke Street
Death - 1886 December 21st

Thats brilliant heywood
it confirms he was married. I do believe I’ve seen that record before many moons ago but didn’t record it or realise how important it was, so the burial record was incorrect. Ive now seen quite a few workhouse records for Walter, Im now going to have a look through the Ireland, Poor Law and Board of Guardian Records, 1839-1920 record for any other Whelan’s at Luke st.

Many thanks
