Finding information about Harriett Babb, nee Hart

My great, great Grandmother was born Harriett Hart. I believe she had her first born (my great nan also Harriett, born Hart and married name Atkinson) before she married her husband George Babb. The family lived in Wolverhampton.

We know that unfortunately she was committed to a mental institute sometime between 1891 and 1900. I can see on records for a hospital in Cheddleton a lady of this name as a patient, her age matches and her profession in the hospital was listed as a japanner (other members of her family had similar professions). After this I am lost.

I would love to know when she died, where she is buried and why she was admitted in the first place but I have no idea where to start. I believe the hospital was St Edward's.

Is anyone able to make any suggestions I could try please?

In 1911 she is still in the county lunatic asylum in Cheddleton aged 52.  Diagnosis chronic melancholia

She can be found on the 1939 register & was not in hospital at that time.  We are not allowed to post 1939 info that can only be obtained via subscription

I think George Babb died 1934.  The 1891 census shows a 7mth old son Richard Babb.  In 1901 both Richard & Harriett are living with George

Firstly I have realised I posted this in totally the wrong section. I'm sorry (I wasn't paying attention)

The Harriett Babb you found for Wednesbury isn't the same one as my great great nan I'm afraid. I have looked into this lady and there are a number of differences to show this isn't the same Harriett Babb.

I can quite understand her having chronic melancolia as I believe her issues were linked to post natal depression.

Thank you, you have provided new information for me. I'm grateful.

I had a feeling she passed away whilst still at St Edward's Hospital. I've not been able to see the 1921 census as yet. I think 1938 is strong possibility, especially as Ladyhawk made a good point about my great great grandad on the 1939 census. I hadn't noticed the widower bit .
