On occasions I focus on certain candidates for ancestors to see if I can find any new evidence but often it can draw a blank, but sometimes I get a breakthrough.

James Gater (c1680-1737) a maltster of Burford, Oxfordshire, he may be the one born in 1679 in Lambourn, Berkshire and I have had my eye on his for years but as yet cannot find any link. He is an example of an ancestor whose search can be frustrating and time consuming but when you get back that far it does become harder as we know, as he never left a will. Best leave him on a backburner.
