Scoble: James William Camp b1880-1939
« on: Saturday 25 May 24 07:48 BST (UK) »
Unable to locate James William Camp Scoble in the 1881 Devon Census. I did find him on the 1911 Census (RD 274, Sub District West Alvington, ED 02, Piece 12873 (Ancestry), but not any earlier.
His father was William Henry Scoble (1852-1882) a gardener in Devon. His mother was Sarah Grace Camp (1859-1939) born at Hendon, married at Kingsbridge, Devon.
James W C Scoble married Elizabeth Nash (1877-1967) in 1903  at her birth place Westbury, Wiltshire (Wiltshire Marriages 1754-1916, Vol 5A, page 289 (Ancestry, FindMyPast).
The only child I can find is William James Scoble (1905-1952) a builder contractor who married Florence Mabel Clark.

My question is: Did James WC Scoble and Elizabeth Nash have any other children?

with thanks

1911 census suggests only 1 child born/still living, no indication on GRO index of a Scoble/Nash birth 1911-1939.

Cheers
I have William Henry Scoble married to Sarah Grace Camp in 1880 (Marriages Index 1837-2005, Vol 5B page 359 (FindMyPast).
and
James William Camp Scoble married to Elizabeth Nash at Wiltshire Wiltshire Marriages 1754-1916, Vol 5A, page 289 (Ancestry, FindMyPast).

Not sure how 1891 census could have
James Camp   67 and Sarah Camp   63
James W Camp   37 presumably a brother of Sarah
James W Scoble   10 sone of William Henry and Sarah.

Cheers

Ahaa,
So William Henry died a year after the birth of his son James WC, meaning the 1891 James Camp was the James WC's grandfather.
That makes sense.
Many thanks
David
