James Worthy 1833 Camberwell (Brickwall)
« on: Saturday 25 May 24 14:14 BST (UK) »
Help needed please with this one.
James Worthy baptized 23 Jan 1833 St Giles Camberwell  no fathers name mother Alice Worthy from Christ Church Newgate .On James marriage he states his father was James Worthy a Iron moulder
8 Nov 1857 St John the Baptist Shoreditch to Matilda Tempest.

I can't find James on 1841 but I have found what I think is him on 1851 census living with the Udell family at 37 Skinner Street a apprentice cabinet maker . In 1861 he was a bedstead maker living at Willmer Gardens Shoreditch. 1871 he was a Cabinet make.
I would like to find  James on 1841 to see if he is living with his mother or  both parents.
Any help or suggestions of where to look would be much appreciated

There is a marriage in 1834 St Dunstan Stepney between Alice Worthy & Thomas Palmer.  May be worth seeing if he’s under Palmer in 1841

Thomas Palmer Jones (otp) married Alice Worthy (otp) on 6th July 1834 at St. Dunstan Stepney. Thomas signed and Alice made her mark. Witnesses were John Neal and Eliza Cornish.

Thomas Palmer Jones, widower, married Eliza Mason on 16th November 1840 in Christ Church, Southwark.

Assuming this is the same man (the signature looks very similar), then Alice died before 1840 and would not have appeared on the 1841 census. I'm not sure that James would be with Thomas and his new wife, bearing in mind that Thomas was probably not his biological father.

Apologies - Whatever record I was looking at only appeared to say Palmer so well done Queen of the West for finding the correct entry.  No wonder I couldn’t find an 1841 entry under Palmer 😱
