All I could find was Thomas Lloyd aged 41 years Collier Miner; Jane Lloyd aged 37 Wool Spinner; Mary Lloyd 21 years Dairymaid; Thomas Lloyd 18 years Collier and Miner; John Lloyd 15 years Collier and Miner. All listed on the Immigration List 1841-1884. Tasmania.

I would doubt it, as Victoria is the closest, New South Wales is north of that, and then Queensland, north of NSW. It did say the ship they travelled on The Donald McKay went via Melbourne, which is in Victoria. They travelled on the Indenture System. I am in the UK, but have been to Tasmania.

Would it be feasible to be in Queensland from Hobart?

Yes it is quiet possible especially if he was a miner. A lot of miners followed the gold rushes. My husband ancestor went from Cornwall England [where he was born] to USA then to Victoria Australia then on to New South Wales and ended up in Ravenswood Queensland and lastly to Charters Towers where he and three others bought into a small mine.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.  So it is a possibility he may have travelled outside of Hobart when older.

Newspapers can be a good source of information at times to, death notices etc. Trove has Australian newspapers online free. You may already have these links but if not could be worth a look.

Tasmania also has online a whole heap of records.
