Thomas Edwin Horton died 5 Apr 1921 and is buried in unconsecrated ground at Welford Road

There are 5 people in the same plot, the 3 previous burials before Thomas were common burials, the last one being 1895. The burial after Thomas is in 1941 which just happens to be an Edwin Horton and is a freehold burial, Thomas Edwin's burial also freehold.

Edwin was buried 30 Jul 1941 age 54 died at the Royal Infirmary but was of 45 Audley End.

Did Lavinia die 1957?

Probate index for Edwin has administration to Lavinia Horton widow.

Forgot to mention he is as Thomas Edwin Horton, 3 Mill Street in the Welford Road Burials.

Yes Lavinia was his widow, she did die in 1957 aged 90. My mum refers to her as granny.

Thomas Edwin Horton (called Edwin) had a son, called Edwin. (He was born Edwin Dann as Lavinia and Thos Edwin didn't get married until the boy was 4).

By the time Uncle Ted died (boy Edwin) the family were living at Audley End, Leicester. Uncle Ted's death was tragic on that he was giving his young nephew, Brian, a lift on his pedal bike and, it's believed, the nephew's sandal got stuck in the spokes causing them both to fall from the bike.

A shoeless little boy ran home and uncle Ted was found on the pavement with a head injury, it was a fractured skull. He died from his  injuries.

I have now bought Thomas Edwins death certificate.
