The Garden Hospital still operating Oct 1891 - although plans to close had been in the pipeline for some time -

The 1871 quote you supplied was 20 years earlier than the 1891 burial. "Garden Hospital Estate" may mean it was no longer used as a hospital by 1891.

Unfortunately there are no map revisions between 1881-1899, but the reference from Nottingham Journal, 21 Nov 1891 (#10) suggests the Garden Hospital was closed 2-3 months after the death in Aug 1891.  It moved to Bagthorpe, as in #2.

Hi all,

Apologies for the late reply - thank you for your input and for the information about this hospital. The person I was searching for is not related to the family I was searching after all, but it was interesting none the less. I may buy the death certificate to see if her cause of death was an infectious disease. I assume it was from the information we have!
