I have Notts in my tree, from Staunton, Worcs including a Thomas, b. 1782.  I don't have a marriage for him but his father (my direct ancestor) was also a Thomas and was coincidentally married to a Mary.

Hi Bev,

Thank you for the note. That is indeed interesting! I think I'd like to do the ancestry DNA test soon to see what else it can reveal. I had a Knott contact me recently asking if I could help him see if he could find a link back to our Thomas Knott, Worcestershire, but I couldn't make the connection. I think with a tricky name like Knott, Nott, Nut with its myriad variations makes it quite difficult!
