Sorry - yes that's right. I was looking at all the Bowman/Bell children and getting them mixed up.

Margaret appears to die in 1894, which would fit with the years married claim for Harold and Sarah - but no obvious marriage yet

Can anybody find a probable death date for Sarah Ann Bowman, nee Butler? The only likely match I could find was in 1919, but the details weren't correct. She was a Sarah Jane, not a Sarah Ann Bowman. Thanks, D.

Death certificates are reliant on the knowledge of the informant so are often wrong  . Do you have a copy of the other certificate for Sarah Jane

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for getting back to me. I looked carefully at the records and there were two Sarah Bowman's that died in that quarter according to the GRO. One was 42 at death (which turned out to be my gg-grandmother), and one that died at 48 (Sarah J Bowman). I didn't see the first record initially.

From the death record, it appears my Sarah Bowman died of uterine cancer at 42 :/
