Thank you very much GR2 for that last final tweak - it is much appreciated.

I wonder if I'm pushing my luck here (probably) but I came up with another tiny little problem:

This is the entry on the ScotlandsPeople image for the birth of JONAT MALCUM on 12/08/1571 to  GEORGE MALCUM at Perth

I think I can make out George Malcum (1st line) and Jonat Malcum (last line)
possibly another George on the 2nd line and a Johne (third line)
does this make any sense?

Thanks & best regards

Eod[em die] [  ] george malcum
                   george Jak
                   John burne
                   N[amed] Jonat malcu[m]

Eodem die is Latin for "on the same day", so the same date as the entry above it. I'm not sure of the next bit that seems to be a p. It is probably an abbreviation, perhaps for pater (Latin for father). Do all the other entries on the page have it?

The father's name is George Malcolm, the witnesses George Jack and John Burn, and the child Jonat Malcolm.

Thank you yet again.

The reason I couldn't understand it was because I was expecting a mother's name to be mentioned, not two male witnesses!

Looks like you are spot on also with the P for Pater, I've enclosed a part copy of another part of the page where the P is repeated.

Best regards
