Hi Thankyou all for all your information it has been a great help as Sheila Colman has been a mystery I know 2 of Bessie and Norman children were born in Newcastle  but I couldn't understand why I couldn't find Sheila Colman my mother and her were best cousins but lost contact I do remember my Mother's siblings all been evacuated to Catterick and Bessie and Norman could have been overseas also they lived not far from the west road crematorium so they could also be buried there maybe if I could find Sheila son I might be able to find more information but I'm so very grateful for all your help I could never have found out so much information
Thanking you kindly

Edward Minnikin may have been married previously to Olive M Douglas( 4th September 1923) , Newcastle
Olive M Minnikin died in 1962, and they may have had a daughter together in 1955, I won't print her name as its highly likely she is still alive,  in 1956 they are living with her mother perhaps, in Marsden Street,

My suggestion of Sheila Henderson as a possibiity was very much a long shot based on the coincidence of two births registered close together with the name of Sheila’s son. There would need to be some more solid evidence before taking it too seriously.

Also the age at death of Sheila Mary Minnikin doesn’t fit with the births of the two Sheila M Hendersons that I saw.

National archives, Discovery ,
Web UK,World War 2, medals issued 1946- 2002,to merchant seamen
William JN Colman birth date 7th Feb 1927,
for service between 1939 to 1945,
so if he's your relative he was very young when he went to sea,

William JN Colman possibly married Roberta Lewis September 1956 Newcastle,
they possibly lived Malvern Terrace in 1958,
he may have remarried in Newcastle in 1980,
and a William Colman died Lemington 22Feb 2011 aged 84 years, cremated West Road,
you would have to verify this , as I can't be sure its the correct person, There is a Roberta A Colman marriage Northumberland S Dec 1969,

Hi
I am also wondering if Sheila  mary Colman name was Sheila Henderson as its strange that there was also Sydney Colman and his other siblings William and Elizabeth were all registered as there birth mother fraser also William colman did live in Malvern street it was the next street to my mother as my mam and Sheila used to visit William so that's definitely William and his wife Reberta yes he was very young also I did forgot about Sydney Colman I think his dad had had a brother Sydney
Thanking you all so much

Since I started this Sheila M Henderson story (see reply #19) I thought that I should see it through. I've traced the two Sheila M Hendersons born in Newcastle around the relevant period and have ruled them both out as being Sheila M Colman.

The SMH born Newcastle 1931 is in the 1939 register (unredacted!) with her parents (Henry Russell M Henderson and Andrina (Reekie)) and she married (Stone) in 1955.

The SMH born 1934 is with her parents (John Hunter Henderson and Edith (Kay)) in the 1956 Newcastle electoral register.

Thus there is noting to support the theory that the namesake of Sheila M Colman's son born in Q1 1953 with mmn Henderson was the son of a Sheila M Colman who had actually been born as Sheila M Henderson.
