Of possible interest:

In hearings for applications for new licenses -
"Mrs Barnett, 42, Hotwell Road. In this case the posting of the notices was not proved, and the application was not entertained."

Also I have no 1861 census record of the family and believe as they were at 42 Hotwells Rd ( Tiger Tavern ) in 1841 , 1851 and known there ( Jane ) in 1871 , that they were at this address .

For interest, in 1862 it seems a Mary MORGAN, widow, was the keeper of the Tiger Tavern, Hotwell Road. (a witness at a manslaughter inquiry)

Though Thomas BARNETT is the landlord in 1860 when a theft was reported.

Jane and son Thomas are on Hotwell Rd in 1861. She is written as "James", though it says "wife".

James [sic]  BARNETT  67  Swansea  (beer house keeper)
Thomas                         31  Bristol  (engineer)
Amelia HAYNES            28  Haverfordwest  (lodger)
RG9/1727/17 pg 27

Transcribed as Sarah BARNETT on familysearch - and they have included  the households above on the actual census sheet.

Swansea, later moving to Bristol.
