Going by the 1911 census could this be the eldest child, mother Biddy.

Good find, softly softly  :)   The registrar wrote her MN as Elenny.  :-\

1901
Eldest son is John and father John is still alive

...and it looks like the enumerator Constable John Connolly wrote out the Form A. Surname McEleny.

Thanks for the help everyone. I see from that Census John Mceleney was 90. Cant find a death for him under McEleney, McEleny, McAlenny etc. If you would be so kind as to try the same search for Bridgets father Neil McEleney. Thanks again

Did you see Sinann's reply #8?
Died at Ballinaboe, his son Michael the informant.

Bridget’s family is a bit tricky
Her address on the marriage is Meendoran and father is Neill.

This is a possible set of people
A death of Neill in 1896, informant son Hugh
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1896/05899/4673615.pdf
There are two Hugh McEleney in Meendoran in 1901 but I think this is the correct one
http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Donegal/Straid/Meendoran/1183973/
Hugh married Rose Ruddy in 1874
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1874/11244/8123422.pdf
And daughter Rose born 1877
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1877/03010/2103191.pdf
And Sarah 1879
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1879/02931/2073906.pdf

So unless there was two Neill McEleney in Meendoran around the same time (which wouldn’t surprise me) I think Hugh is Bridget’s brother.

Do not  rule out McElhinney/McIllhenny [any variations] in your search. Both these main variations have a good footprint in Co. Donegal. The name also appears in both Presbyterian & Catholic religious streams.

Good luck.
