Going on that he would have been in Portsmouth, or in Leeds. Unless he was on leave. At that time his father would have been in Watford. His brothers were all overseas by then as well.

Nothing in the newspapers that I can see.

An elder brother Thomas Green CLAPHAM was a Major in the 14th Regiment of Foot. He died on 1 Oct 1803 and his replacement was gazetted on 25 Oct 1803.

So just over three weeks for him.
