Just want to check this is what I think it is- a list of children being confirmed in 1840. Interested in Samuel Lach age 8, but not sure what the other columns relate to.

Not quite, as far as I understand it.
On scan 3/38 is written:
list of all the children of this school in Widminnen that succesfully completed their 5th year but who are NOT confirmed YET.
