Sorry CF   to hear your news, I am sure now your husband is starting treatment they go all the way to help  as I said to a friend recently " when they have got you, they have got you" what I mean by that is they look after you once you are diagnosed,  be positive as Jebber says.

Well, it's now 4 p.m. and I am going to draw the curtains on this miserable dark dull day.  I suppose I should be thankful that it's not raining, but it still doesn't dry the washing outside.  I have just finished ironing the washing from two days ago and it's still damp.  Didn't need the steamer on my iron for it.

A quiet day for me with just a charity coffee morning, where I bought some Christmas cards.  They weren't really to my taste, but were all in a good cause.  Why do so many Christmas cards (and other greetings cards for that matter) have cute cats and dogs on them?  The ones that I ended up with showed 1) an owl and 2) Herdwick sheep and "Beltie" cattle.  Delicious home made cakes and fortnightly coffee mornings  are organised in the village by two hardworking ladies who support a local hospice and other local charities.  We all eat far too much cake here, but it's for a cause, we tell ourselves.

Happy birthday biggles

Sorry to here about your husband candleflame..  good that it's treatable .

Here there's been a  very good fireworks display outside my bedroom window from the tennis courts behind my flat . I think they must have been low noise ones

They posted a letter through all the neighbours doors a few weeks ago to tell of nights that there would be music and or fireworks which is very community spirited .

Lots of small fireworks all week from Diwali celebrations . I think it would be better if they stuck to specific days .

Every good wish Candleflame for your husband's full recovery.

Eldest son cane today to change the bathroom lights which were rather dull .and limited wattage.
Much brighter now .

Nice chicken casserole for evening meal.
Got a Covid injection tomorrow,a good bit earlier than the first vacancy .

My new eye drops re raised  pressure  are also not advised for heart failure patients , so the Heart Failure Nurse is contacting the Eye Specialist at Rochdale to request what can be used that does not affect my heart failure.
She is very good and asked me again to make a formal complaint about the wrong drug being prescribed after my latest heart attack ,which has affected my eye pressure, and was not for use with patients who had a recent heart attack ,I was given it the same day I had the attack!

It will work out . ::)😦

Some fireworks but as yet nothing very loud.

My Mum’s anniversary tomorrow ,1957,she was only 61.
Same day as then, a Wednesday.

Hope all who have problems and worries get good resolutions .
I thank you all for your kind messages to me, they have been really supportive. I hope mine to you are helpful.

Cheerio folks .
Viktoria.

Cheers for the birthdays LM and Biggles, nice that you and your twin can get together for yours LM  8)
Congratulations also to your granddaughter and fiance Viktoria and then the baby news you're anticipating  8) All the best for your various followups for everything too.
My good wishes as well CF for you and your husband with his health and now dealing with the new normal of appointments and to hear it is thankfully treatable.

Husband back for appointment at Dr today and antibiotics he's been on for over 3 weeks coming to an end once this course is finished.
We managed a few days away and back last night just before dark, did think we may see some fireworks on the way home and there were just a few in surrounding streets but not close or too noisy. I did have a knock on the door at 6pm as I left the computer Thursday night, a young mum with two little ones doing the rounds for Halloween, added something to the little girl's bucket and the younger brother on mum's hip had chocolate all round his lips already, no others later in evening. No doubt there will be a couple more whiz bangs this evening as well, only on sale 2 - 5 Nov but ...!
Went into a K'Mart yesterday briefly and loads more Christmas stock being put out and playing the music already as well! ... plus a bargain bin for Halloween items of course!

Have a good week all ...

Sorry to hear about your husband CF, but good that it’s treatable. The constant rounds of appointments seem to take life over … but all for a good cause! Glad to hear one place had good quality meal.

Viktoria, hope between the heart and eye clinics they’ll get you sorted out.. you are a remarkable lady taking everything in your stride… wonderful to hear about your granddaughters engagement and a baby to look forward to as well.

Happy belated birthday LM, pleased to hear you were able to celebrate with your twin.

Very dull days here but still mild… barely had our heating on at all.. just our log burner for a few cooler evenings.

Decorators finished the kitchen and bathroom… first time had people in as OH’s a perfectionist but with dodgy shoulders, difficulty being on his knees swung his reservations!
Lovely chap, great job, reasonable cost … next one to face in February is the hall stairs and landing… lots wall paper stripping to be done.. but not by us 😃!

Take care all those under the cosh and hope improvements will continue..

Belated birthday greetings to those who celebrated recently. :)

What a day I had yesterday!  It started with my weekly shop, trailing round the supermarket dodging shelf stackers and people who will go round in groups of 2 or more or block the aisles chatting to others.

That went quite quickly, so no complaints there, but then we had to have an early lunch, so that I could get to my annual glaucoma check-up.  I hate the "puff of smoke" test and am a total failure with the "clicker" test, clicking like mad and hoping for the best.  There is no parking at the Eye clinic and car drivers are advised to park at nearby  B&Q or Dunelm!  When I had finished my appointment I tried to phone my husband to come and pick me up, but the phone told me that there was no network coverage outside the clinic, and I couldn't reach him.  I walked down the road, hoping to get network coverage, but without success and I didn't know exactly where he had parked.  Walking back to the clinic to see if they could phone him I spoke to an attendant at the entrance.  He very kindly offered to try his phone and managed to contact my husband, much to my relief.  I have no idea why my phone wouldn't work, as it worked perfectly when I tried it on the way home.

Before I left home I cleaned my teeth and was horrified to find that a tooth fixed to a dental plate had come loose and I was left with what felt like a massive gap at the front of my mouth.  I phoned the dentist, who at first said that the earliest she could see me was 5 days away.  Oh horror, I had two social occasions ahead over the next few days and was faced with not being able to smile let alone eat.  Luckily the dentist managed to find a few minutes at 5.10 to deal with the tooth matter and I only had to wait one day for the technician to repair the tooth.

The day was wearing on, and after a carefully prepared easy to eat omelette supper I was glad to sit back in an easy chair and then to stagger off to bed early.  Today I hope for a better day and a big smile. ;D
