If Charlotte was born in 1800 she would be under age when married. Maybe they went off to London to marry where they wouldn't be known and lied about her age so she wouldn't need parental consent.

There is a baptism of a Louisa Kent on Chelmsford in 1830, father Joseph of Duke Street gentleman. But mother Caroline. Did Joseph remarry soon after Charlotte's death. On earlier baptisms Joseph is an attorney's clerk and on Fanny's he is a clerk in Mr Gepp's office.

There was a marriage by Lic  03 Feb  1830, St Mary Islington for a Joseph Kent (widower of Chelmsford) and a Caroline Williams (spinster) which looks likely.

Looks very likely. Image on Anc. witnesses Montague Newland, William King Kent and Matthew Saxelby(?) Dalley.

Matthew Saxelby(e) Dalley was from Leicestershire. He married at Syston in 1831. First child baptised there in 1832. On bapt record it says he was a solicitor and address was 15 Bloomsbury Square, London
