Margaret McCutcheon/Johnston is very elusive.  Could have died/remarried ?? (but Thomas never says widowed does he !!)

The half Sister Elsie Stirling/Sterling married a Stirling - James Gilles Stirling/Sterling 15 April 1919 (Drouins Collection)

1931 they are living at 101 Fifth Avenue. Verdun. Quebec. ( The address given on the deaths of Margaret and James Stirling/Sterling.)

Oh, Sandra, you are amazing. This family has really built up, thanks to everyone,  although Margaret Pearl Johnston nee McCutcheon is still to be found after her marriage to Thomas Gorman Johnston in 1913.
I found the marriage record of Elsie Stirling to James Gillies Stirling May 15, 1919, his parents Elphinstone Stirling and Mary Gillies, hers James Stirling and Margaret Beattie, although at death, the record says her father Joseph.

Thanks for the marriage date of James Stirling and Margaret Beattie. Their daughters Mary Gifford and Sarah Maud were twins, born July 17, 1893.

Sarah died first Dec 17,  1893, burial Dec 20, 1893, Brome West circuit. https://www.rootschat.com/links/01tjs/
This is the burial of their daughter Mary Gifford Stirling. https://www.rootschat.com/links/01tjp/
As for the sons in Margaret's first marriage, birth of Ernest Beattie McCutcheon, he was born Nov 15, 1882 and died Jan 27, 1907 as per findagrave. No wonder he is not on the 1911. There is something funny though. In 1913, one of the witnesses for the marriage of Thomas Gorman Johnston and Margaret Pearl McCutcheon was E. B. McCutcheon. Who's that?
There seems to be a mistake regarding Norman Robert on findagrave. he was born Feb 8, 1887 and died Feb 2, 1903 so age 5, almost 6.
Thanks again, Sandra.

I phoned Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery this morning and they say they do not have Thomas Gorman Johnston in their graveyard. However, the person I was talking to seemed to be having a lot of trouble with his name, even though I spelled it several times. A special thank you to bbart, I really feel you have found the correct death in 1961. And to rosie17 for finding his marriage.
I also reviewed the 1950 census, and he was chosen for extra questions, and he does say both his parents were born in Scotland, which would be true for this Thomas Gorman Johnston. He seemed to have trouble with the answers for many of the other questions.
I have also written to someone who left a flower on findagrave for Thomas John McCutcheon, who died in 1890 to see if she has any information about his daughter Margaret Pearl Johnston nee McCutcheon.
Wrote to the San Francisco Public Library for further info on Thomas.

Today, I phoned Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery again and this time, they confirmed that they have the burial of Thomas Gorman Johnston, who died Jan 9, 1961 and was buried on Jan 16, 1961. He was a PA case which means he was buried by the  state which means he had no family. His dob was May 25, 1895 in Canada. His grave plot is Grave 129, Tier 31, Section N.

In 1913, one of the witnesses for the marriage of Thomas Gorman Johnston and Margaret Pearl McCutcheon was E. B. McCutcheon. Who's that?

Thanks again, Sandra.

I believed this to be Eliza Bella (Isabel/Isabella) McCutcheon born 21 June 1884 who married Roland (Rowland) Sydney Mays/Mayes in 1913

Elizabeth McCutcheon Mayes died in 1923 -

I didn't realize that I had the last two messages. Thank you Sandra. On findagrave, there seems to be confusion as to whether Isabella died Jan 6 or July 6, 1923. I wonder if she had an obit that might mention her sister Margaret Pearl aka Maggie.
You are so clever to realize that E.B. McCutcheon was Eliza. That did puzzle me. I am thinking that Margaret Pearl may have used a different name after 1913, like I am fairly sure Thomas John's sister Frances Malinda went by Ann. Just to keep us guessing.
