Sicling Deaths
« on: Tuesday 13 September 05 22:40 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find out when my Grandparents died. George Herbert Sicling was a watchmaker & jeweller in Saltburn from about 1920 until around about 1960. I believe he died in Saltburn but cannot find any info about it.
His wife Edith Lavinia Sicling (nee Gray) I haven't a clue about apart from they were married in Nottingham, and that was from a Rootschat member.
The only other info I have is that he lived at the end of his life at ? the Roseway, he had an Opticians shop at 5 Amber Street in 1915 but it became a watchmakers in about 1921.
I realise that this is a bit outside what is normally posted as far as dates are concerned. I'm just hoping that some kind person from Saltburn or even somewhere else can shed some light on this.

Hi Minor, Thanks for the info, but it's not my George SICKLING.
He was definitely George Herbert SICKLING, born abt 1881 in Ripon.
To tell the truth he or somebody else changed his surname to SICLING. Don't know the when or the how, I just know that on his son's marriage cert it had lost the 'K'.
Thanks again
