Hi all,
I'm stuck on a girl who disappears after the 1921 census, complicated by a common surname and others with the same first name. eg there is another Margaret Taylor born in the same year in Soton who has a sister called Rosina - this is a different person.
WHAT I KNOW & ALREADY HAVE THE RECORDS FOR:
Margaret Alice TAYLOR. b. Q4 1910, Southampton, Hampshire.
Father: William Henry TAYLOR 1883-1914. I don't need to know any more details for this.
Mother: May CALLOWAY 1888-1955. After death of first husband, she remarried, in 1915, to Joseph MACEY.
1921 census for individual:
Address: 34 James St, Soton
Alice Taylor, age 10yrs 8m, full time school (ie, this indicates she was b. October 1910)
Others:
Her stepfather, Joseph Macey, 49yrs, Pork Butcher, for T.J.Ponsford, 84 St Mary's St, Soton
Her mother, May Macey, 34yrs
Her stepbrother Joseph, 22yrs, Seaman
All the above b. Soton.
+ a boarder, John Holloway, 56yrs
1939 Register: I have found the record for the mother, May, with her second husband Joseph MACEY in Soton. Margaret would have been 29. She is not there.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW:
Marriage record for Margaret Alice TAYLOR that is definitely for her (there are multiples on FreeBMD)
1939 Register for the same person.
Death record for the same person.
Any ideas, sleuthing and sightings v. welcome!
