Hagbourne parish registers - Davis/Davies
« on: Wednesday 14 September 05 20:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,

if anyone has the Hagbourne parish registers I would appreciate any information about the Davis/Davies family during the 1820s and 1830s.

Specifically Henry Davis/Davies probably born 1828-29.

thanks,

Julie

Hi Julie

There is no Henry Davi(e)s in the baptisms at Hagbourne in that period I am afraid - the closest (an only one 1800-1840) is 1825 June 5th William Davis to William & Rebecca - travellers

Thanks Debbie,

I suspected that may be the case - he claimed Hagbourne once on the census, but not for the other times.  I presume he lived there for a while when he was a child.

The reference William and Rebecca I will squirrel away for future reference  :).
