« on: Friday 23 September 05 00:09 BST (UK) »
I am trying to prove that this young man belongs in my family tree as the information I have been given is that he is the son of

Paul Collings (born 1798 Spain) and Ann (born 1801 Devon)

GEORGE THOMAS COLLINGS BORN 1836 EXETER

many thanks for your help

hi supernan

Have rechecked the 1851 census and George Thomas Collings is not present, by my estimate he would be about 15 at the time, and he could very well be away working or visiting as he does not appear at all in Devon. Yes it does appear that he could be a son of Paul and Ann going by the IGI, it may be an idea if you have not already done so to get a look up for him in the 1841 census.

Hi Jericho,
many thanks for looking for him on the 1851 Census.  Have just looked on the IGI and found him and yet I had looked before and never found him - must have had my wrong glasses on!!!!!
At least I can now put him on my tree and know that he really is 'one of mine'
Many thanks for your help
