The photo has Martha seated on the left, Hannah standing and Sarah seated to the right.

Have you seen the picture of Bryan on the Picture Stockton website? And left a message?

Hi

Yes thats the picture.  I have also been into Stockton Library and looked at the photos of Bryan.   I have found a Martha Ayre in 1851 in Stockton but not sure if it is her, it could be that they have spelt her name wrong, cant figure out what it says her occupation is.

I've tried a variety of combinations, even tried searching for a Martha with spouse Bryan, to no avail. perhaps they evaded the enumerators or perhaps used assumed names. We might never know.

Do you know why John Tweddell was in Durham Gaol in 1851?

No sorry I don't know why he was in goal in 1841, but it cant have been too serious as Anne Isabella was born in January 1843.  I think that him being a attorney it was probably for fraud.

Having had a look, I think it might well be - not convinved that it's the right Martha though - should be Fair not Ayre.

Have checked 1851 census and Martha Ayre 28 is living with her mother Martha Ayre 71 and also Elizabeth M Toole 5 who is still with her 10 years later  -   so she is not our Martha.   Never mind will keep hunting.
