Birthplace Query

On some census information i have from scotland (1881) some of the household birthplace information is given as NK, Ireland. Is anyone able to tell me what this means (or where it means!!)Thanks :)

I believe it means the actual birthplace is not known, only that it is Ireland.

Thanks for your reply, it makes obvious sense :-[!!!
I have to confess, my geographic knowledge of ireland is not as good as it should be, so i thought it might be short for something. He he he!
