Hi Peter,
Could you please do another lookup for me from 1851 census of Warrington. (you previously found them in 1861 for me)

Martha Holmes b.1834 Warrington
Matilda Ellen Holmes b.1836 Manchester
John Holmes b.1838 Warrington/Lancaster
Annie Price Holmes b.1842 Stoke on Trent
Ellen Holmes b. about 1813 Warrington, mother of these children.  (possible she could be deceased and the children are with these Grandparents)

Sarah Price aged 50 plus Grandmother of the children
Peter Price (Sarah's 2nd husband) aged 50 plus

Thanks :)

Hi Dusty

Partial success only I am afraid, it seem that Joseph may have died in Warrington 1860, from the Cheshire BMD and from the same source Ann Married a Joseph Hewitt in 1851 cannot find them with any certainty in 1861.

1861 RG9-2793-F43  105 School Lane Warrington

Peter Price head 63 brewer Warrington
Sarah         wife 74               Ashton Cheshire
Martha Holmes g/daug 27 unwed milliner Warrington
Thomas Hewitt g/son 8 St Helens Lancs

hope this helps

Thanks Peter for your help so far locating my family.

Any chance you can check 1861 census for Ann b.1827 in case she has remarried, as I could not find a death for her.

Also could you look for her son Thomas Hewitt b.1853 Warrington  on the 1871 census please.

Thanks :)

Hi Dusty

I did check all the census when I did the original search, and it was because I could not find them that I suggested the marriage of an Ann Griffiths indexed in the http://www.cheshirebmd.org.uk/cheshirebmd/index.html

You would need to confirm this is her marriage before searching further, who knows they may have emigrated.

good luck
