Can anyone help please???
« on: Monday 26 September 05 21:42 BST (UK) »
Hi
These two photos I scanned in a while ago and they are so dark and dingy as are the originals. I would love to see them sharpened up if possible.
Particularly as the little boy is my dad! My granny in the photo on the left would you believe was only 39 at the time!
The outfit and hat were not kind!

Hope someone can help
many thanks

The orig pictures are over pixelated which really stood out when the contrast was amended, therefore they look a little better reduced to 75%. Becuase of the pixelation I didnt over do the sharpness and contrast.

Yes, they have scanned in in blocks of 8 pixels, which means its difficult to sharpen as one then gets lots of little squares.
Oh B....r - I've just saved one to demonstrate the squares over my "finished" example! Have to do it again!

Hi Cal - The example pic is exactly the same size as your original but I've roughly adjusted the contrast to what it should be. You can easily see that the photograph is made up of large square pixels which suggests this is a blown-up version of a previous scan, otherwise they would be barely discernable at 1:1 - hope this helps.

Thank you both so much. I think I understand now about the pixel stuff I scanned these a while ago when I had less knowledge about scanning than I do now (which ain't much more  ::) ), but all I can say you have both done my grandparents and dad proud they are so much clearer

Thank you again
