Reid family from templepatrick antrim

I'm trying to locate a Margaret Reid born 1849ish in Ireland..   All I know is that her father is a William Reid also born in ireland..

I Know Margaret married into a Donnelly family and had a child by the name of Francis born 1866/68 also in Ireland.

I am at a loss        as where to start looking for this family, I think they might be from Antrim not sure thou. any information would be of help.

Saz kindly tried the easy part so now it looks like a case of the long hard slog to see if we can assist you in getting that break through. The two sites below will enable you to find many Reids and Donnellys who were in Ireland during the time of Griffiths Valuation (1848 - 1864). On the second site you may cross check the two surnames to find out how many parishes in Ireland contained both names at the same time.

Well I looked up Reid and Donnelly and heres what I found..

Hi

I done some digging and as it turns out Margaret Reid married a Thomas Donnelly/Donlon, in March 1868 in Liverpool and Francis Donnelly (son) was born 1868/69 in Liverpool.

I also found a reference on latter Day site to a Christening.

Margaret Beck Reid

Event: Christening - 14 Aug 1849 Templepatrick, Antrim

Parents:
Father:   William John Reid
Mother:   Eliza Beck Reid.

Could this be the family I'm looking for???

Maxine this may be the right family. But do not jump to the conclusion that it is too early. There were possibly other Reid / Donnelly births in 1849. Check out some facts. Are there any common names running through the descending generations  that might enable some cross checking to be done ? Is Beck used as a Christian name within the family ? Do you have any idea of the religious persuasion of the family ?

Christopher I'll give you all the information I have.

1881 Census had:

James Burns Head 35 Ireland
Margaret Burns Wife 30 Ireland
Frances Donnelly son 12 Lpool
Mary Ellen Burns Daug 4 Lpool
Maggie a Burns 5 m Lpool.


I applied for the marriage Cert of James and Margaret and it stated
 
Margaret Donnelly at 78 Virgil Street Lpool 5 - Widow
Fathers name: William Read (Deceased) Labourer

I also applied for Francis Birth Cert but to no avail.  so I applied for Mary ellens Burns, Birth Cert. On the cert is said Margarets maiden name was  Reid, not read.

Today someone emailed me and said Margaret Reid married a Thomas Donnelly also transcribed Donlon in March 1868 liverpool.

The name Beck doesn't ring abell for anyone. Also the family are Catholics.

I am waiting on Margarets Death cert. I haven't got all that much information on the family.

Philip Riley lodger dock worker age 40

AT 52 Vernon st (well looks like that) st Nicholas liverpool

Do you know if Thomas was married before

Marriage for them 1868 liverpool

Looked at Ireland

have a Margaret age 8 living in Dunaghy born in Scotland says lodger with a Reid family Mary Reid head from Londonderry 2 elizabeths a Mary .Isabella and a John.

Lots of Reid families in that area also  a WIlliam son of Margaret with Margaret her mother in law and a daughter Margaret and another son John.
