Hi,I do hope you have more success than I did contacting someone on GR.

After finding my grandfather on someone else's tree I looked further and saw my Gx1 and Gx2 Grandads

We are stuck there with a brick wall so I was really quite excited when I saw dates going back to the 16'00's for my family.

I mailed the person who's tree it is and waited for a reply...........and waited.
After 3 weeks I wrote again with a wife for one of my Gx2 Grandads.......information I had through the marriage certificate I had obtained.

Two weeks later the person contacted me and said "thanks for that........it was something I didn't know" and that was it!!!!

I wrote again and said I could share lots of certificates if required............still I had nothing.................I sent a "request to see your tree" message..........and ..........yes nothing!!

The information for the BMD's for the family is not readily available on any of the on line sites as I have looked,so they must have access to information that we haven't got.......ie a family bible.

It is so sad that we share everything from Great Grandparents down..............our grandfathers must have been brothers.........but the person obviously feels he can't share the tree with me and the family.   :(

I do not see the point in putting a tree on GR if you are not intending to share the information.......................Genes Reunited means just that to me.

Sorry this is so long winded............I have it off my chest now and feel better...................it has upset me for two long months now!!

Hope you have better luck than I did.
