Burying a Wollen?
« on: Thursday 29 September 05 22:47 BST (UK) »
Today i was browsing through the Burryalls ;) of St Hillary in Walazie. From the 1500. I came across this one in 1772
Eliz. Williamson of Poulton Spinster.According to ye sence of a late act of parliment entitled an act for burying a woolen.
anyone know what that means ??? will post more sad and strange deaths later. These added reports are the only record of what happened to these people.

There was an act of parliament which meant that shrouds had to be made of wool (or incur a hefty fine). Maybe it's connected to that?
