regiment enquiry

Can anybody possibly tell me what regiment and also what year/war this picture is from. Its possibly my grandfather and all information would be grateful.  Thanks Alan Mee

Hi Alan,

At this moment I cannot tell you the Regiment, but the badges on his right arm are, Corporals stripes and the badge above is an Articifers badge as worn by Armourer Sgts, Machinery Articifers and Smiths. So this may help with the Regiment.

I cannot see the collar badges clearly enough. Hope it is of some help.

alan,saltys right about him being a armourer/smith,ime pretty sure hes a royal engineer,his collar dogs are exactly the same as the the royal regiment of artillery,but his shoulder title appears to be only two letters long,so i think hes a engineer,it looks like he has a formation sign on his shoulder,cant date it ime afraid,but could be mid wars,mack

mack, photo looks post WWI so I would say his titles are probably RA?

I would agree with Salty as regards arm badges but am pretty sure that the regiment is RA, blouse is early WW2 and probably Ack-Ack from what one can see of the cloth badge on his arm. the lanyard again gives it away.
