:-\ Oh that's a pity. Is there anybody in the family who can remember roughly?

sadly no - only really knew Percy, who lived with us, and an aunt in Sheerness & none of mum's brothers or sisters have a clue aboutthe family history.

I shall order the marriage cert with fingers crossed.

Thanks,
Mark

HI, tati,  :)

Just in case you're still watching this thread:

Have got marriage cert at last - and guess what - no father's name for Hannah!! However have had contact through GR which looks like it confirms the Hannah daughter of Ann link. So thanks for that.  ;D

Thanks all - looks like this ones sorted, will check out Perce's birth next.

Cheers Mark

Of course I am!
Was Hannah 25 at marriage, at least? I take it there were no interesting witnesses?

Glad you're still there  ;)
Was worried you might think I was one of those ungrateful people who don't acknowledge help when it comes.

Anyway:

Hannah was 26 on her wedding day. One of the witnesses was Maria Andrews (presumably William's sister or mum). The other is less legible but looks like James Winsell (will try & scan & post). So don't think they're  much help in tracing Hannah. However hadn't thought about witnesses before,so maria may help me trace the impossible to find William - so thanks for that pointer.  ;D

Are you the cute chap on the picture? If so, I'll forgive you anything. And if you're not, it's OK too  ;)
Well, Hannah's age looks good.
Hope I can get a little time to see whether I can spot Maria in 1901 - I should be working  :-X

Yes that's me - my first school photo back in ........  ;)

Attaching witness signatures (hopefully)  - Please don't let me stop you working. I too need to get on with some work at some point this morning.

Thanks for your continued interest.  ;D  ;D

... forgot to ask earlier: What's Williams' address and occupation on the cert?

HI again,

Both William (age 31) & Hannah's adresses simply state Brockham. William is down as a labourer. His dad's name is John Andrews (dcsed),also a labourer. The grout family however were in and around Bookham and Great Bookham, Surrey.
