I am a Great Grandson of Helen Smith nee McColgan and have  just found this site. Thanks for the additional info you have provided. Hugh Smith born 1862 was son of John and Sarah Smith nee Murray. Unfortunately common names.
I am related through their Daughter Jane Starkey.
Hugh remarried after Helens death to a Rose Ann Smith nee Smith. They had no further children.
According to 1911 Census Hugh was born in Ireland.

Thanks again for the great set of updates.

Hi Richard, cousin Helen here   :D  (your dad & my mam were brother & sister)
Glad to see you on the forum, and I'm going to "hit" you straight away - I have been told that there is a photo of our grandfather William Stewart that has been copied and shared in Duntocher - a copy never made it across the sea to my family - is there any chance at all that you could try and find a copy?  William died when my mam was 13, and I've never seen a photo of him.

There's a photo of William Stewart?  Gosh, I'd like to see that as well.

Didn't I tell you that Deb?  I thought I did.  I've had Helen trying to track it down but she's had no success, I think we need to call in some more Stewarts to track it down.  That's a photo I would LOVE to see.
