Hello Ken

just did a quick google for lincoln + mayor + todd & got this web page

http://www.lincoln.gov.uk/Information_page_+_3_pic_det.asp?id=6570&sec_id=824

It lists all mayors since 1900 & includes Frederick W G Todd

As to your family history - fo you know when Frederick married Edith ??

cheers John

Ken,

I just been digging on 1837online & found Frederick's birth in Oct-Dec qtr 1916 registered in Coventry vol 6d page 1227

then hoping Fred was first child - I went back from Mar 1916, & found marriage of Frederick to Edith M Thompson in Apr-June qtr 1915 regeistered in Rugby vol 6d page 1734

then to 1901 census to look for a Frederick Todd in Warwickshire; & found one born 1895 in Coventry son to Arthur Wiliam & wife Helen. If this could be him let me know & I'll post all the family members.

then looking for a Edith M Thompson also in Coventry, found one b 1892 in Over Whitacre, pupil at private girl's school, along with sister Nellie.
however there are 4 other Edith M's possible - have you got her birth year  ? or date of death (her death index would record age at death)

cheers John

From the recesses of my memory, I seem to think the former mayor lived on Belton Avenue, Hartsholme estate and had a daughter Marilyn who would be about 57 now.  I've a feeling there were no other children.

I guess either you know this already or it's totally irrelevant!  ;)

Hi there Geoff E and John P Bedford.
Geoff as for the address i will have to check that one, but as for the children Maryilyn was the youngest of 4 children Jill, Jackie, Keith and Marilyn But thanks for the info it all helps in the end.
John p Bedford had a look at that site it proves to me that he was the mayor in 1959, yes i have Frederick down as August 1916 so you was right there, now then finding that Frederick and Edith got married in Rugby that is information i did not have, not too sure about the Warwickshire link but if you could post me the family members i could check it from there, all this info helps a lot.
Thanks to everyone for there help.
cheers
