History of Duntish Mill
« on: Sunday 02 October 05 17:06 BST (UK) »
Has anyone got facts about the history of Duntish Mill and its occupants. It would seem that John Holland and his wife Mary (King) lived there where he was the miller and baker. So far I have three sons born to them:
John Holland (b. 1803), Frederick King Holland (b. 1805) and Thomas Holland (b. 1807).
The father of John the elder was Jonathan Holland whose wife was also Mary (?). They would have been in there from around 1760 - 1807 at least, probably earlier and/or later.

Bob Holland.

Now if your ancestors were at the mill then, you could have an interesting story for your family history ......

In 1718 smuggled linen was seized from the home of Thomas Randell and 20 gallons of brandy was discovered under corn in a wagon at nearby Duntish Mill.
